Everybody wants to make money. I guess we could say it has been in-bred in us since the heydays of commerce during the Neolithic era.

The essential question is, HOW do you want to make money? In terms of internet marketing, there are of course countless of ways to make cash online!

I, as any successful business would, has diversified into many streams of income. However, for those who are just starting out, the question is, WHAT exactly do you start with?

More critically, what are the choices that you have anyway?

By technical means, there would be hundreds of methods of generating an income, but just to make it easier for you guys, there are 4 basic fields an online businessman can work on.

1. Merchants.

Merchants are basically people who sell their own products online with their own websites.

2. Affiliates

People who promote other products and gain commission from products bought by customers who go to the merchant's website through the affiliate.

*Note : An affiliate does not sell his own products

3. Virtual mall owner

Essentially, someone who owns a virtual mall and collects 'rentals' from merchants etc at regular intervals.

4. EBayers

People who sell, or auction in eBay.

All 4 fields have excellent potential in generating lots of income. But all 4 require different sets of skills and personalities. What are you?

Hey guys.. I've just been looking around for a good keyword research tool after getting tired of those free tools provided already, and I found this gem of a tool!

This tool is a keyword research tool that draws billions of search queries and puts them all into easy-to-read data. With this, you can see which are the most popular things currently being searched for.

Therefore, with this great seo tool, you can analyze the market and pinpoint keywords with potential to bring in targeted traffic to your website. This tool also finds keywords which you might have missed out.

* "Get Legal, or Get Cheated!"

Are you an Ecommerce business owner, or do you just seem to be one? There is a difference, and that difference will hurt your business.

When you sell products on the Internet, just like anyplace else, you need to be buying those products from a direct Wholesale Supplier. Either the factory itself, or a factory authorized distributor. If you’re not, you’re paying middleman markups that chip away at your profits until you’re barely making enough to pay your hosting fees. Sometimes I think that there are more middlemen on the Internet than there are ECommerce sites, and they’re all targeting YOU!

Here’s a scenario:

John Doe wants to open an Internet store, and make lots of money. He can’t believe all the news items about new Internet millionaires. He’s seen pictures of these people in the news and on the ‘Net, and lots of them look like they’re one beer short of a six-pack.

“If they can do it, so can I!” he thinks, and starts to search around the ‘Net for information on starting a business. He finds boatloads of hosting companies willing to put his site out there for just a few dollars a month. He finds that many of them offer free shopping carts, so that he can take his customers’ orders. He finds services that let him accept credit card payments without even applying for a merchant account.

Only one thing left…what to sell?

John looks around the Internet for Wholesale Suppliers. He comes across a wholesaler of name brand products that he knows are very popular. He contacts them, and they say, “Certainly! We will “drop ship” products directly to your customer for you, one at a time, at wholesale. All you need to do is fill out some paperwork about your business, and supply us with your Tax ID number.”

“Paperwork?” thinks John. “Tax ID number?” Yechh! That sounds like work. Worse, it sounds like LEGAL work. That’s a scary thing to most people, and John is one of them!

A little more searching, and John finds a web site called “Stuff R Us”. Stuff R Us is screaming at him: “Thousands of wholesale products you can sell on your website! NO investment for inventory! We send each item right to your customer! No shipping, no handling products, no minimums! Sign up with us and we handle everything! This is your road to Internet Riches!”

Well, that’s the road John was looking for, by golly, so he happily sends his name and address to Stuff R Us along with his sign-up fee. Suddenly he can put all kinds of products on his web site, and all he has to do is email his orders to Stuff R Us, and they handle the rest. No paperwork, no hassles.

John is creating a new Internet millionaire, all right. No doubt about it. Unfortunately, it’s not him. It’s Stuff R Us.

Stuff R Us is a middleman. They sit between John and the REAL Wholesale Supplier. Every time John places an order with Stuff R Us, they turn around and place that same order with the REAL Wholesale Supplier, who sends it to John’s customer. John never knows this is happening.

Stuff R Us is marking up the real wholesale price to John. John will piddle along selling the same over-marketed imports as thousands of other Stuff R Us clients, at over-inflated wholesale prices.

Stuff R Us thinks this is great, and they’re laughing all the way to the bank.

So, where did John go wrong? What did he do to unwittingly get stuck in ECommerce’s biggest trap, the “middleman rut”?

It’s simple. He took the easy way out when searching for a Wholesale Supplier. Stuff R Us said, “we’ll handle everything”, and John said, “Hmmm, that sounds easy!” So, instead of bothering to do some simple legal paperwork for his business, John let Stuff R Us cheat him out of most of his profit, because it was easy.

Please remember the following two statements:

1.) You MUST work with REAL Wholesale Supplier to be truly successful in ECommerce.

2.) You cannot buy from a REAL Wholesale Supplier if you are not a LEGAL business.

Let me repeat that last one, for those who may have their Real Jukebox software turned up too loud:

YOU CANNOT BUY FROM A REAL WHOLESALE SUPPLIER IF YOU ARE NOT A LEGAL BUSINESS!

ANYONE who allows you to purchase wholesale products for resale without legal business paperwork is NOT a real wholesaler, and is taking profit that should be yours.

In our business, we publish two very thorough Directories that help people like John find and contact real Wholesale Suppliers that will work with his Home-based Internet Business. Every once in a while, we get a request for a refund on one of our Directories from someone who says, “I don’t have to go through all this legal stuff to use the Wholesale Suppliers in your Directories. I can just go to Stuff R Us and do it the easy way!”

I have no doubt that Stuff R Us finds this absolutely hilarious.

Getting legal is not that hard. Don’t listen to the people who tell you that you don’t have to do it. Here are the basics (in the US):

1.) File a DBA (Doing Business under an Assumed name), or a Corporation. You can do it yourself for surprisingly little. As far as I know, all states in the US have web sites where you can read instructions and file your papers online. We did it for about $80 here in Florida.

2.) If required in your state, file for a local business license. Here, we paid $35 for this. Many states do not even require it.

3.) Contact your State IRS office (NOT Federal!) and file for a “Sales and Use Tax ID” or “Resale Certificate.” This is what a real wholesaler needs to see in order to do business with you. They use it to justify the fact that they are not charging you sales tax on the products you purchase and resell to your customers. Here in Florida, we got this for $5, and it took about 15 minutes.

Getting legal is not hard, and the benefits are tremendous. Don’t make money for a middleman…make it for yourself!

I know it's easy to read every article there is on the face of this earth concerning internet marketing. It's so easy to get hyped up and excited about making loads of cash.

But...

When do you actually START making cash?

Though it's not immediate, that process can only take place IF, and only IF, you have complied with the First Rule of Business.

Yes. You have read enough of internet marketing to know the basics and even more. Now is the time to put it in black and white!

Of course, some of you might be apprehensive...

"where do I start?"

Excellent question. First, you start right here, where I explain everything there is to know about internet marketing (for those who are really in the dark about internet marketing).

"Will it take up a lot of time?"

You will have to commit a certain amount of time to make your website flourish. After all, without effort, just how much can you expect the rewards to be? Remember, an empty stomach serves no man.

I suggest finding a free day or two to set up and get your website up and running. After that, an hour or two daily should suffice.

"Can I get rich fast?"

Yes. But do I recommend it? NO. Get-rich-quick schemes DO exist, but they are just like alcohol. A shot or two at it will yield positive income, but most often than not it dissipates almost instantly after that.

Then you start feeling frustrated at the lack of income, and delve deeper into GRQ schemes, hoping that your luck will turn for the better.

Sorry, not gonna happen.

Chances are, you're probably lose a huge chunk of cash AND time after you wake up to reality.

Build up your business empire like a reputable one would. Slow, but steady, and always on the ascending scale. Be it during hard times or good times, your company will always stay up because everyone knows it's worth it.

The next 5 minutes after your eyes leave this post would be the most important 5 minutes of your life.

"The Business End of an Internet Business"

I've had a lot of email from people who know they want to start an Internet business, but don't know how to put the nuts & bolts together on the business end.

That’s not surprising. It can be confusing, and there are certain steps to be taken in a certain order. Without help, you can end up running in virtual circles for weeks.

Now, please keep this in mind, folks; I’m not an attorney, and I’d rather not have to hire one after writing this article. Let me just say that this is how it works where I live. Your local government may do things a bit differently, and of course I can’t speak to this issue for those outside the US. (Sorry!) If you need to, consult an attorney or accountant. You should, though, be able to do this pretty easily on your own if you choose.

So, here’s how we do it in Florida, USA.

First, swim to the poolside bar and grab yourself a nice cold drink. Then…oops, sorry, that’s AFTER work!

Seriously, now, there are five things you would need in Florida to get started the RIGHT way. It works pretty similarly around the rest of the US.

1.) File your Business Entity

You need a “business entity.” That just means you need an official business name that’s recognized by the government. You can do this one of two ways.

A.) Corporation: You can file a corporation with your State. Florida has a web site at www.sunbiz.org, where we can file a Florida Corporation Online. I believe that most States in the US have a service like this by now. They also have instructional forms that detail what goes where, and what everything means on the forms. Once we complete our forms, we submit them online with about a $90 payment, and poof…we’re a corporation! We get our official copies back in a few days.

B.) Fictitious Name: This is a simpler way to register your business, but it does not afford you the protections that a corporation does. Same thing…in Florida, sunbiz.org has the forms, and we fill them out and submit them online. This doesn’t cost as much as a corporation. In some States, this is called a DBA (Doing Business As…), and is obtained from your local County Office building for a minimal fee. ($35 would be an average).

If you’re not sure which way you want to go, see an attorney or accountant. This is an important decision!

2.) Obtain a Business License

Here in Florida, we are required to have a County Occupational License issued by the county our business resides in. This takes a couple of hours at the local County Office Building, and costs about $30. We must show our Business Entity papers. In some other States, a County Occupational or Business License may not be required.

3.) Obtain a Resale Certificate

In almost every State you are required to have a Sales Tax Certificate (Tax ID Number). In Florida, we can get a Sales Tax Certificate in about 20 minutes for $5. We must again show our Business Entity papers. This is done at the local State Tax Office. When you buy from a Wholesale Supplier, you will be asked to supply them with a copy of this certificate. They use it as proof to the IRS that they are not required to charge you tax on the products they sell you at wholesale.

4.) Open a Business Bank Account

If you’re going to do business, you must have a business bank account. You’ll need your Business Entity papers, your Tax ID and your County Business License, (if required). Here, we can open a business account for a deposit of $50 to $100. Almost all banks offer business accounts.

5.) Open a Merchant Account

The last thing you need is a Merchant Account. You’ll need everything you obtained in the five steps above for this one. (Unless the County Business License is not required in your State).

This is the thing that allows you to accept credit cards from your online customers. Without this, you'll get nowhere. Online buyers are instant gratification junkies. They want it NOW! If they have to mail you a check, they'll go somewhere else and buy. Merchant accounts used to cost a thousand dollars and more to set up. They've come down a LOT. We just opened a new one for a setup fee of $150. The Merchant Account will collect funds from your customers’ credit cards, and deposit those funds in your business account. Email Deliverability Tips

Ensuring requested opt-in email is delivered to subscriber inboxes is an increasingly difficult battle in the age of spam filtering. Open and click thru response rates can be dramatically affected by as much as 20-30% due to incorrect spam filter classification.

Permission
Confirming that the people who ask for your information have actually requested to be on your list is the number one step in the battle for deliverability. You should be using a process called confirmed opt-in or verified opt-in to send a unique link to the attempted subscriber when they request information. Before adding the person to your list they must click that unique link verifying that they are indeed the same person that owns the email address and requested to subscribe.

Subscriber Addresses
When requesting website visitors to opt-in ask for their "real" or "primary" email address instead of a free email address like Yahoo or Hotmail. Free emails tend to be throw away accounts and typically have a shorter lifetime than a primary ISP address.

List Maintenance
Always promptly remove undeliverable addresses that bounce when sending email to them. An address that bounces with a permanent error 2-3 times in a 30 day period should be removed from the list. ISP's track what percentage of your newsletters bounce and will block them if you attempt to continually deliver messages to closed subscriber mailboxes.

Message Format
Usage of HTML messages to allow for text formatting, multiple columns, images, and brand recognition is growing in popularity and is widely supported by most email client software. Most spam is also HTML formatted and thus differentiating between requested email and spam HTML messages can be difficult. A 2004 study by AWeber .com shows that plain text messages are undeliverable 1.15% of the time and HTML only messages were undeliverable 2.3%. If sending HTML it is important to always send a plain text alternative message, also called text/HTML multi-part mime format.

Content
Many ISP's filter based on the content that appears within the message text.

Website URL:
Research potential newsletter advertisers before allowing them to place ads in your newsletter issues. If they have used their website URL to send spam, just having their URL appear in your newsletter could cause the entire message to be filtered.

Words/phrases:
Choose your language carefully when crafting messages. Avoid hot button topics often found in spam such as medication, mortgages, making money, and pornography. If you do need to use words that might be filtered, don't attempt to obfuscate words with extra characters or odd spelling, you'll just make your messages appear more spam like.

Images:
Avoid creating messages that are entirely images. Use images sparingly, if at all. Commonly used open rate tracking technology uses images to calculate opens. You may choose to disable open rate tracking to avoid being filtered based on image content.

Attachments:
With viruses running rampant and spreading thru the usage of malicious email attachments many users are wary of attached documents. It's often better to link to files via a website URL to reduce recipient fear of attachments and reduce the overall message size.

CAN-SPAM Compliance
The January 2004 Federal CAN-SPAM law introduced a number of rules regarding the delivery of email. It's important you have your legal counsel review your practices and ensure you are in compliance. The two most important rules include having a valid postal mail address listed in all commercial messages and a working unsubscribe link that is promptly honored to remove the subscriber from future messages.

Reputation
Reputation services are often used by large ISP's as a way to vet email senders regarding their email practices and policies. Businesses listed with these services are then given less stringent filtering or no filtering at all. Several reputation services are:

* http://www.bondedsender.com
* http://www.habeas.com

Relationships & Whitelisting
Contact with major ISP's and email providers is essential in letting them know about your requested subscriber email. Many large providers such as AOL and Yahoo have specific whitelisting programs and postmaster website areas to ensure your email is delivered as long as you meet their policies and procedures in handling your opt-in list.

Email deliverability is about ensuring requested opt-in email is delivered to the intended recipient. While no single tip will enable you to get 100% of your email delivered each one utilized as a group can go a long way to reaching that goal.

Ultraviolet!

Have you guys watched the movie Ultraviolet? In my honest opinion, I don't think it WAS that good... That said, it wasn't half bad either. (liked the action scenes a lot, AND the main actress too, hehe!) ;)

Anyways, the story revolves around a certain virus that started spreading like wildfire. That got me thinking about viral marketing.

For those who don't know what viral marketing is, it's a way of promoting and advertising your product or service in such a way that you reach a huge amount of potential customers in a short amount of time. Most of the time viral marketing works itself too, as in automatic.

One very good viral marketing strategy is providing opt-in ezines for your customers. This not only creates immense rapport between customer and merchant, but actually SUSTAINS the relationship. This increases the probability of your former customer buying more of your products! (recurring income)

What is opt-in ezines? Well, it's about sending automated e-mails to your subscribers on a regular basis to keep them updated about your new products or interesting information you want to pass on. It's all done by automatic responder softwares, or autoresponder for short.

You can even send sequential ezines! That means sending a chronologically fixed set of e-mails to be sent at different time intervals to your subscribers. One good trick to go with sequential ezines is a 7-day course or something close to that.

Research has shown that autoresponders are able to boost your traffic and sales by 300%! This is no exaggeration. Just check out all the big companies out there, Site Sell, Internet Marketing Center, and see if they have opt-in ezines or not!

Needless to say, automatic responders are THE way to increase your traffic exponentially!

Yes, I know how it feels to be one. I love going on and on about sports. From talking about my favorite player to talking about the politics behind the sports to talking about naming my future son after a football legend…

But, wait, are you satisfied with the current income you possess? Is being a sports fan making you become a millionaire. Not quite? Totally understandable.

However… What would you give if I told you that there is a way to just do everything about sports, AND yet gain enormous amounts of income? Sounds far-fetched? Not at all.

You see, in the internet era, basically everything is electronized. Information is rampant on the net, and millions of people search for information everyday.

How does this concern you?

Well, with a little bit of effort, and with a clear and focused mind, you could very well achieve financial freedom by doing something that you love! Keep in mind it doesn’t HAVE to be sports orientated only. I was merely giving an example. You can make money even with your love for cats, or tattoos, or ancient Rome literature; anything!

This is how it works. There are many ways to generate an income online. From selling products (physical and software), being a distributor of products, being a content-driven webmaster, and so on.

Let me give you a few examples. Mr A. loves football. He wants to use his love for football as a catalyst towards achieving financial freedom. So, he sits down, and thinks about what he could do. He spends days, weeks researching on the demand of surfers online on football. He analyzes the amount of websites providing answers to these people.

Mr A. then finds a niche (something of high demand by internet users but low supply in terms of websites providing the needed information or product), which is, “trading rare football memorabilia”.

He then proceeds to spend days reading up on how to build a web site specializing in dealing with rare football memorabilia and also hosting a discussion forum for all football fans interested in rare football memorabilia.

Months after, with thousands of people flocking to his website, selling football memorabilia online, and generating income through Google AdSense (where he gets paid by Google when someone clicks on a Google advertisement in his website), he manages to sustain a credible five-figure income every month.

Sounds great? It might to you, but I think Mr A. could have done much better. You see, unlike Mr A., I can spend just one week max to set up any web site of my choice, with any niche field I want! This is because many site builders are starting to automate all the steps that Mr A took.

A layman no longer has to do his own research on his niche field. All he has to do is just type in the niche he wants to create a website on. Voila! Everything set up for you. With site builders, you never need to learn how to use HTML or XML or JAVA! Just learn how to use a keyboard and you’re all set!

How about advertising and promotion you ask?

Of course it’s automated! All you have to do is just supervise the work and customize some parts to your liking.

In a nutshell, there are three kinds of people in the world.

1. People who love what they do but don’t generate income from it

2. People who love what they do and generate income from it through the power of the internet and takes months learning how to build a web site

3. People who love what they do and generate income from it through the power of the internet and take as little as 1 week to create a working and attractive website ready to bring in income the second they click “Build!”

Question is, who do you want to be?

If you think you like being person 1, then close this article and forget about it.

If you think you like being person 2, start buying books from your bookstores or online books and start doing months of research!

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) losing ground? REPORT

Research has shown that SEO strategies are becoming increasingly ineffective. This is due to the flawed objective of SEO methods. Metaphorically speaking, someone teaching SEO methods is like a teacher providing answers and biased guides to students before an exam.

What happens is, as the exam papers are changed regularly, and new formats replace the old one, the guides provided by the teacher gets obsolete ever so frequently. And when that happens, the teacher has to provide new answers and guides to make sure the students are up to the task.

What’s wrong with that?

Well, the ‘exams’ you’re sitting for is not the usual stagnant ones. As Yahoo! And Google enhance their search engine algorithms constantly, the answers and guides given by your teachers are becoming, essentially, useless.

And there is a limit to how far you teacher can keep up with the exams.

Therefore, I, agree propose a new method of building traffic. So simple, but oh so effective! All you have to do is, build up high-quality content related to your business.

Metaphorically speaking, by building high-quality content, you don’t even need a teacher! All you have to do is make sure you get the concept right, and the marks will come through automatically! It doesn’t matter how many times the exam papers are changed, 2 X 2 will always be 4.

This is because the spiders employed by Yahoo!, Google and so on are being optimized constantly to think like humans. In the past years they could be fooled easily by shady websites who put on a show, but lack in real content. But now, they are ranking pages based on human reaction!

For example, your website would be more favorable in the eyes of a spider if surfers stay longer in your website than a rival’s (common sense). Also, they would monitor the surfer’s actions in your website.

“Is he going through the other pages of the website?” and so on.

No SEO strategy can combat these modern spiders. That’s why, instead of trying to stay ahead of the spiders, form a partnership with them! Make them genuinely LIKE your website!

All in all, if you want to sustain your online business, you better make sure that you build terrific content. After all, you have nothing to lose but everything to gain from changing your perception of achieving a high ranking in the search engines.

That said, SEO still plays a major part in staying ahead of today’s search engine’s algorithms. You still do need to do the basic search engine optimization methods, like adding keywords, submitting your pages to the search engines. However, do keep in mind on what’s REALLY important (it starts with a 'c').
